Too Much Fun... Digging in the Dirt!
Too Much Fun... Digging in the Dirt!

My author's style comes from
thinking about and journaling creative memories that inspire word pictures;
hopefully you will think of exciting
Kodak moments of your own. It's a good thing to see generations, young and old, pass on their knowledge to other generations. I hope you desire to do so as you read through this book -- and others coming soon. Enjoy fun and laughter in your reading!
Thanks for dropping in.

Mission Statement: First and foremost, I want to be and do all I can to bring glory to God. How? Through all He gave me / surprised me with / blessed me with! I've made mistakes in my life, and also have done some pretty amazing things. (I want to keep on doing amazing things.) I recently watched a true movie, "Aunt Mary," about a crippled lady who loved baseball, and after WW2, used that love not only to coach a sort of misfit kids' team for 40 years, but dealing with feelings of inadequacy in her entire life, pushed for and got, inclusivity for and stardom from her team members and their parents! I too, want to do this for my readers and their family members! So I will write.
I am God's child, Dale's wife, mother of two, grandmother of two, and an Aquacize and Older Adult fitness leader who wears a few important hats in life -- meal maker, cookie baker, dishwasher, clothes washer, grocery buyer, picture taker, researcher, bed time story reader, etc. I want to tell you --
I absolutely LOVE reading stories!
In case I get a chance to "sign" your book, here's some history that deals with signing: when I was 12, I had an MVA: the scarf around my neck was sucked into the motor of a ski-doo I was driving, and pulled my head forcefully onto the steering wheel which cracked my skull. I did not have a helmet on. Please wear a helmet!! Dad carried me through much snow to the house, Mom gave me CPR way out in the country, and some doctors and their teams worked on me for a long while. They did more CPR and brain surgery to remove pressure, blood, and bone fragments. I was unconscious for three weeks. Since then, my long-term memory doesn't always work well, my balance isn't great (it never was), and my dominant right hand has a focal dystonia (a medical term for "problem") so it's really hard for me to hand-write legibly or without pain... or even put make up on! I had to learn to do many things over again, BUT, I can walk, talk, and think! And sign (barely!)
Take away -- wear a HELMET!!!
I have ALWAYS loved the power and inspiration of words! The keyboard serves me well. Yes -- I can type, write on a black board [not a white board], and sometimes even play piano as these actions use different angles and forces than hand-writing does. I absolutely LOVE my keyboard! Typing story helps me live! Telling story helps me breathe! Turning out words helps me have fun!
When you read, Too Much Fun -- Digging in the Dirt! I hope you relax and smile as you remember good times of your own playing outside, digging in the dirt near your home, your grandparent's home or your friend's home(s). I bet you love surprises, and you, too, will have a great time reading about the fun day my eldest grandson and I had digging in the dirt as we cleaned up the garden. We were surprised by a few creatures! Maybe you will find different ways to "research" about different bugs, soil, The Great Depression (The Dirty 30's), etc. Maybe you will "research" other things! Hopefully you will enjoy our encounters with various bugs and family pets, and feel the love! Read on...
My next book will be about having fun with English grammar! Yes, having FUN! The book following that will star my youngest grandson when he was little, counting. It is coming soon: working titles: "Too Much Fun -- Counting Everywhere! -- Doing Numbers Everywhere! -- Chalking Up The Numbers! -- Practicing with Numbers! -- or something similar.
A few years ago I was privileged to be a member of T.A.L.E.S., The Alberta League Encouraging Storytelling (now T.A.L.E.S. Calgary) where members learn stories to tell, retell, and/or sing for the enrichment of all people! They still get together annually with SC-CC, Storytellers of Canada--Conteurs du Canada, for a retreat in one of Canada's beautiful provinces.
